*sigh* my kids & markers

OK, so they colored their legs last week, no big surprise. Time to keep the markers out of reach.

About a year and a half ago, Brandon colored his penis. With a green Sharpie. Yeah, that took a while to wash off.

This evening (under dad's supervision while I ran up to the library), Natalya colored her legs again. Then got bored with that and (without taking her diaper off) colored her vulva blue and green. At least it was with washable markers and not a Sharpie.

not today (decluttering)

As I'm sitting here on the couch, trapped under a nursing babe who is going through a growth spurt, I came across this little gem on a website:

Live your life in such a way

That if you were to die today,

When they give your stuff away

No one would need to stop and say,

"Whoa! What in the world is this doing here?"

It sooooo does not describe my house right now (still in that newborn survival haze and the housework has gone to shit) but I love it!

stuck on the couch

So here I am, like most mornings, stuck on the couch under a nursing/napping babe. I had planned on babymooning until the beginning of September, then doing a big stocking for my reopening. But somehow, I'm not sure that I'll be that much more efficient in just 2 more weeks. Right now my house is still a disaster and the mountain of laundry is taking over my closet. If I'm not even getting time to unload the dishwasher on a daily basis, I don't think I'm going to be able to get things dyed for the business anytime soon.

I don't think velcro baby is interested in napping if she's not on top of me anytime soon.

hmmm, interesting

I've been interested in trying kombucha but not sure if I want to get a scoby and brew my own. I bought a bottle at the store today and it was interesting, rather like a weak carbonated vinegar.  Yeah.  Not quite what I was expecting.

Telephone

Remember playing the game "Telephone" as a kid? When a bunch of kids whisper a phrase down the line and see what it turns out as at the other end?

Me: "You guys want some zucchini bread?"

Brandon: "Mommy, that was good 'chinni bread!"

Talya, 2 hours later: "Mommy, me more kitty cat bread?"
