Declutter 7 things a week. It doesn't sound that bad, just one item per day. Toss it in a box and then, once a week, drop the box off at Goodwill. I know I have enough clutter in my house to keep this up for a really long time.

The challenges:

Newborn (1 week old) DD and 22 month old DS. Me learning to be a mother of 2 when I feel like I was just getting the hang of being a mother of one. Add to that the fact that all I want to do is sit on the couch and make goo goo eyes at my babe and I don't foresee a great deal being accomplished around the house. Honestly I'm just hoping to keep things from getting too much worse.

Not all of the stuff is mine. I'm getting better at ruthlessly decluttering my stuff but DH's stuff is a different matter. How many times are we going to move the same big box of spare wires & cables? Once or twice a year he will use a cable from it and say "see, aren't you glad we kept this?" Ummm, no. Because the other 99% of the time we end up buying a new cable and the collection grows.

We have so much crap in this house it is overwhelming. We are a military family and were already over our weight allowance on our last move, I shudder to think what the next one will be like.

I understand where your coming from--especially about DHs stuff. It's easy to declutter my things, but very difficult to persuade him to let go of his junk too. So, as much as I declutter it's still cluttered. Good luck.
