random musings

Migraines. F*ck. I hate them. And they've been continuous for a couple weeks now, which puts me in a really short temper. It's like I have this constant, baseline-level migraine that sometimes (with the help of some meds) gets a little better for a couple hours and other times gets excruciatingly more painful. Ugh.

I have a referral down to Madigan Army Medicial Center in Tacoma which will help, but first I have to go through all the hoops of meeting with that neuro, deciding that this is my best course of treatment (yes, it is, or else I wouldn't have been referred down there from Naval Hospital Bremerton) and then scheduling another visit for my treatment. And with 3 kids, including one that is only 4 months old, getting down there isn't exactly a piece of cake.

Tricare won't pay for my treatments from a civilian provider (even though I can get them from a military hospital). I've already found out/gotten pissed off/accepted that. But now I realize that means in order for me to continue to get the care I need after Rob retires, we'll have to live close to a major military hospital. I'm not entirely thrilled about the limitations on where we'll be able to live, but I guess it will be worth it in the long run.

2 year olds. Especially a 2 year old Natalya. As stubborn as me, which makes for some interesting days. My carpets may never recover from potty learning, I'm getting used to stepping in wet spots now. And I don't know why I thought a dozen pair of training pants would be enough, I think I need another dozen. She's making progress, about half of the pees make it in the potty, but the girl pees a ton. Maybe I'll just get a big painter's tarp and spread it out in the living room. But I'm not complaining, that's a lot more pee than has ever gone into the potty before.

Speaking of trainers, I got my new EcaPants from EcaWare Baby for Kira and I love them! Very convenient for quick pottying, a lot easier than taking a diaper off and putting them back on. They're absorbent enough to catch a pee without leaving a puddle on my carpet if I miss one (though even when she's naked, Kira pees on the floor waaaaaay less than Talya) so that's good for when I'm busy with the other kids. They aren't super absorbent but they're trainers, not diapers, so if you're looking for a wearable toilet then go buy some Pampers. I think I'm going to be getting more of these soon, they're great for EC.
