Reusable canning lid giveaway

So, over the last year or two I've started canning, something I always associate with my grandmother. It started innocently with raspberry jam after a berry picking trip. Then a batch or two of apple butter. Last spring I bought a pressure canner, then let it sit in the foyer closet for a month or two and intimidate me. Finally, after I grew tired of my freezer bags full of stock leaking when I thawed them, I started using my pressure canner. It wasn't nearly as intimidating as I thought, but it doesn't take much to scare me in the kitchen. (And it was much easier to make and pressure can my stock than it was to buy good chicken & beef stock that wasn't full of MSG and other crap.)

The only thing I don't like about canning is tossing lid after lid, since we can easily go through several jars a week. I've read about the Tattler reusable canning lids and want to give them a try, something else on my to do list. (Actually getting around to buying the lids is much lower on my to do list than nurse the baby, wash the laundry, nurse the baby, school the 6 year old, nurse the baby, wash the diapers, nurse the baby, try to cook something in my 5 minutes of non-nursing time, nurse the baby, break up the brawling older kids, and nurse the baby list that takes up my days.)

There is a giveaway of these lids at the Adventures in Self Reliance blog, so check it out if you ever do any canning: Tattler Reusable Canning Lid Giveaway

I have a few flats of tomatoes coming in next week (yes, bought, we won't discuss the sorry state of my garden this year) and some of them will be made into salsa using the recipe that is also on her blog, I can't wait!
