Hurricane Ridge, revisited

Well, I didn't get rid of 7 things this week.  Just an iced tea maker that I put on Freecycle but hasn't been picked up yet, it's still sitting on my porch.  If it's still there tomorrow then it goes to the next person in line.

Today didn't start off so great. Brandon woke up too early and, as a result, was whiny and clingy all morning. With my patience running out and no nap in sight I decided to go for a drive in hopes that he would nap. After lunch I loaded the kids up in the mommymobile, grabbed my book on CD that I checked out from the library (a technothriller war novel, I certainly hope Brandon didn't learn too many new words!) and headed up to the Olympics again. It was a very peaceful and enjoyable 2 hour drive!

I tucked Natalya into the mei tai (her 2nd womb) and Brandon and I went for a short hike. For those of you who hadn't seen it yet - yes, I chopped all my hair off! (Thanks, Sariann!) I had been growing out a chemical relaxer, which was a real pain in the ass. Wavy on the top and straight on the ends, it wasn't attractive. I don't have time to blow it out straight (or even dry it!) every day now so off it went. Now comes the slow part of growing it back out. Remind me of this next time I want to dye or straighten my hair!

Here is Brandon taking a break on the High Ridge Loop trail. We only hiked for a mile or so, but that's a long walk for his short little legs. I was just glad to have him burn some energy! Once the hubby gets back we'll do more hiking, both in the Olympics and at Mt Rainier.

The nap in the car and exercise put Brandon in a much better mood.

My stepmom will be in town on Monday and my dad next weekend, I can't wait!  It's been over a year since they have seen Brandon.
