solitude

just me and the cats.
guests are gone, kids are asleep.
silence surrounds me.

How do you balance the need for company with the desire for privacy? My parents left today after visiting for a week. On one hand I'm sad to see them go because we had a great time visiting and it will be quite a while before I see them again. On the other hand, after having houseguests for a week I'm ready to get back to my normal routine. I think it just comes down to the fact that I really enjoy my privacy and solitude. My husband is the extrovert and I am most definitely the introvert.
