Time for a change.

In the last year I've developed a very unhealthy relationship with food. It started after DD was born. DH went to sea when she was 5 weeks old and I had a crash course in day-to-day life with 2 kids. Several nights a week we would get our dinner handed to us through the car window. My (at the time) 22 month old, who had only had fast food a couple time in his life, suddenly became very well acquainted with "chicken fries!" for dinner. He recognized fast food restaurants by their signs.

If this had stopped after a couple of weeks then it wouldn't have been that bad. But eating a quick dinner in the car also had the benefit of peace and quiet. DD would sleep, DS would eat in his car seat and I had 10-15 minutes to read a book while I ate. Most days that would be the only relaxing time I would get. So then I began to seek out that time, usually accompanied by a quick meal from a fast food restaurant or snack with a soda. Now it has become a habit, one that is proving hard to kick.

My goal for at least the next 30 days is to not eat fast food and to cut back on the soda. Hopefully none, but I think I'm actually addicted to having a Coke every day. So maybe a goal of no fast food and no more than one soda a day. I'm doing horrible things to my body, it has to change.
